Karen Balster, 68, of New Market died April 1, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 200 Broadway St., Clearfield. Bill Armstrong will officiate. Mrs. Balster was cremated, and no visitation is scheduled. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Online condolences may be left at www.watsonarmstrongfh.com.
Karen Readene (England) Balster, daughter of Dorothy Marie (Rechtenbach) and Walter Warren England, was born May 7, 1944, in Creston.
Karen grew up on a farm near Clearfield.
Karen was married in 1960.
On Feb. 14, 1993, Karen married Leon “Lynn” Balster in Las Vegas, Nev.
Together, they farmed and raised hogs in Minnesota. A few years later, Karen and Lynn bought a farm near Webster City. The couple moved to their present home outside of New Market in 2005. The couple raised cattle.
Karen worked at Bunn-O-Matic in Creston for about 17 years.
Karen is survived by her son and his significant other, David Brown and Crystal Taylor of Creston; granddaughter Jamie Brown of Maryville, Ill.; grandson Brandon (wife Alexis) Taylor and their children, Cody, Clayton and Chance Taylor, all of St. Joseph, Mo.; brothers, Larry “Butch” (wife Jeannette) England and Gerald “Harry” England, all of Clearfield; nephew Jesse Warren England of St. Joseph, Mo.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Donald Wayne England; and husband Leon “Lynn” Balster.
