Angela Weltz, 43, of Creston died April 3, 2013, at her home in Creston.

A memorial gathering will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. No visitation will be held. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to an educational fund for her son David. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Angela “Angel” Melissa Weltz, daughter of Agnes Jean (Richards) and Charles George Weltz, was born Feb. 4, 1970, in Creston.

She graduated from Creston High School in 1988 and attended University of Iowa.

Angel moved to the Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas, area in 2002 and worked as a bartender for Saltgrass and other locations before working as a mainframer for AIG.

She moved back to Creston in 2012 and was currently working part time in the kitchen at The Windrow.

Angel is survived by her son David Weltz of Creston; brothers, Kevin (wife Dawn) Madison of Creston, Terry (wife Sara) Madison of Creston and Patrick (wife Jill) Weltz of Clive; sisters, Kelli Madison-Zarifis of Carl Junction, Mo., and Shawn (husband Jeff) Marsteller of Weiden, Germany; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Angel was preceded in death by her parents.
