Creston travels to Glenwood for state-qualifying

The Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union have released state-qualifying assignments for track and field.

Girls regionals and boys districts are May 9. Sites for area schools include Glenwood (Class 3A), Nodaway Valley (Class 2A) and both Van Meter and Corning (Class 1A).

The state meet is May 16-18 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Assignments for the coed meets:

Class 3A

At Glenwood — Atlantic, Sioux City Bishop Heelan, Carroll, Creston, Denison-Schleswig, Glenwood, Harlan, Sergeant Bluff-Luton.

Class 2A

At Nodaway Valley — Central Decatur, Clarinda, Clarinda Academy, Osceola Clarke, Interstate 35, Mount Ayr (boys only), Nodaway Valley, Red Oak, Shenandoah, C.B. St. Albert, Treynor, Neola Tri-Center.

Class 1A

At Corning — Bedford, Corning, Diagonal (girls only), East Mills, Essex, Fremont-Mills, Griswold, Lenox, Nishnabotna, Sidney, South Page, Stanton, Villisca.

Van Meter — Earlham, East Union, Grandview Park Baptist, Iowa Christian/Ankeny Christian, Lamoni, Martensdale-St. Marys, Mormon Trail, Mount Ayr (girls only), Murray, Orient-Macksburg, Seymour, Southeast Warren, Van Meter, Wayne (Corydon).
