Edward Meisenheimer Milo, Mo.

Edward Meisenheimer, 81, of Milo, Mo., died April 15, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, followed by the Elks service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo. Visitation with family present will be 10 to 11 a.m. service time Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Vernon County Cancer Relief Fund or Vernon County People for Pets in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.ferryfuneralhome.com.

Edward Bernard Meisenheimer, son of Theresia A. (Karhoff) and Merlin T. Meisenheimer, was born April 21, 1931, in Orient.

Ed was raised in Iowa and graduated from Creston High School.

Ed was married to Norma Rodgers.

Ed later married Ruth Ann Pursley, who preceded him in death on March 15, 2005.

Ed moved to Nevada, Mo., in 1964 from Kansas City, Kan.

Ed drove his own truck for many years and managed rental property in Nevada, Mo., for a number of years. He retired in 2006.

Ed was a member of Nevada Elks Lodge BPO No. 564, a lifetime member of Nevada Eagles Lodge No. 770 and Nevada Osage Masonic Lodge No. 3003.

Ed is survived by his sons, Charles D. Thomas of Nevada, Mo., Dick Meisenheimer of Milo, Mo., Dale Meisenheimer of Nevada, Mo., and Jim Meisenheimer, Oak Grove, Mo.; daughters, Donna Moore of Nevada, Mo., Debra Dahmer of Durango, Colo., and Connie Hartline of Nevada, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Helen Brasher of Liberty, Mo.; brother Don Meisenheimer of Nevada, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to his wife Ann, Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty Scism and brothers, James Lee Meisenheimer and Gene Meisenheimer.
