Ross Lyle Steeve, 27, 309 S. Division St., was charged 7:30 a.m. Friday at his residence with domestic abuse assault.

According to a Creston Police report, a female walked to the Union County Law Enforcement Center Friday to report Steeve had grabbed her, threw her over the couch, destroyed her phone and forcefully took her vehicle keys from her in an attempt to prevent her from leaving their residence after a verbal confrontation Friday.

Steeve was released on promise to appear.

Kayden Lee Witt, 13, of Lenox was referred to juvenile authorities at Creston Middle School 5:15 p.m. Friday for assault and criminal mischief.

Witt was released to his parents.

Clarke Timothy Howe, 29, 1356 N. Cherry St. Rd., was charged 9:31 p.m. Saturday at Casey’s North with public intoxication, third offense.

According to a Creston Police report, Union County Dispatch had received a call claiming Howe was intoxicated while driving a black Lexus on North Cherry Street. Howe’s vehicle was located at Casey’s North on East Townline. As an officer spoke with Howe, the officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on him. Howe refused to take a breath test.

Howe is being held on $2,000 bond.

Brenda DeAnn Ladd, 41, of Afton was charged 3:40 a.m. at the Union County Law Enforcement Center with operating while intoxicated.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were in a city parking lot in the 100 block of North Pine Street when they heard a crash and noticed a vehicle had struck a pole at the intersection of Adams and Pine streets. Ladd was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where she consented to a standardized field sobriety test and preliminary breath test, which indicated a blood-alcohol level above .08. Ladd then, consented to a sample of her breath through DataMaster, which indicated a blood-alcohol level of .137.

Ladd was released on $1,000 bond.

Lisa Kay Austin, 42, 503˝ N. Elm St., reported a window at her residence was broken between 2 and 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Damate estimate is $200.
