Helen Stickler, 89, of Osceola died April 22, 2013, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Services will be 2 p.m. today, April 24, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. The Rev. Chuck DeVos will officiate. Visitation with family present will be 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Clarke County Hospital Auxiliary, First Christian Church or Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.
Helen Louise Stickler, daughter of Oma Gertrude (Wilson) and Lewis Terhune, was born Feb. 26, 1924, in Woodburn.
Helen graduated from Woodburn High School.
On Dec. 28, 1940, Helen married William Lynn Stickler in Princeton, Mo.
Helen was a homemaker. She worked a few years as a bookkeeper for Lewis Chevrolet in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
She was an active member of Clarke County Hospital Auxiliary in Osceola, member of the First Christian Church in Osceola and Women’s Club.
Helen is survived by her sons, Roger (wife Karen) Stickler of Overland Park, Kan., and Bill Stickler of Ankeny; daughter Jane (husband Ray) Brown of Creston; grandchildren, Jan (Kyong) Stickler, Dawn Stickler, Heather (Tommy) Steele, Angela (Chad) Williams, Laura Beth (James) Luther and Jonathan Oertwig; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Monahan, Nathan, Justin and Quentin Stickler, Ella and Gavin Luther, Aleah Williams and Jaden, Skyler and Teagan Steele; sister Lucille Otis of Cedar Rapids; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
