Jean Haidsiak Clearfield

Jean Haidsiak, 92, of Clearfield died April 30, 2013, at Clearview Home in Clearfield.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 3, at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield. The Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine will officiate. Open visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. A memorial fund has been established to Clearfield Fire Department. Watson-Armstrong Funeral Home, 200 N. Jean Haidsiak, daughter of Myrtle (Bean) and Henry Kettle, was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Lena, Ill.

As a small child, she moved with her parents to Blockton.

Jean graduated from Blockton High School in 1938. After graduation, Jean taught at a country school.

On Dec. 30, 1942, Jean married Wayne Haidsiak in Maryville, Mo.

Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church of Clearfield, UMW, former member of the Eastern Star and member of Friendly Neighborhood Club.

Jean is survived by her children, Kay (Jerry) Miles of Bennington, Neb., Carolyn (Gary) Williams of Pomona, Kan., and George (Sherry) Haidsiak of Clearfield; grandchildren, Terri Stevens, Mike Martin, Jim and Mark Williams and Jamie Hommer; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Vera Carson, Annabel Walkup and Lois Haidsiak.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne Feb. 26, 2005; brothers, Byron and Dale Kettle; and sisters, Marjorie Wilhite, Mildred Fuller, and Mable Smith.
