First loss

NEOLA — The Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey girls suffered their first loss Tuesday in a 5-3 match against Tri-Center.

The Trojans took command with a 4-2 edge in the first half.

“Tri-Center has the leading scorer in the state,” Valley coach Michael Krawczyk said. “She (Kaylee Grote) is very talented and we had a hard time shutting her down in the first half. In the second half our defense did an outstanding job. We will learn a lot from the loss and we’re proud of the girls for fighting to the end.”
