Evelyn Madore (Brown) Grand Rapids, Mich.

Everlyn Marie Madore (Brown), 91, formerly of Creston passed away Sunday May 5, 2013. Funeral services were held Wednesday May 8 at Arsulowicz Funeral Home, Remembrance Road, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Internment was in Blythefield Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn, daughter of Lillian Ruth (Ames) and Thomas Edward McNichols was born February 9, 1922 in Osceola, Iowa. Evelyn graduated Osceola Schools, married and later divorced.

Evelyn was not afraid of changes in living or life. She moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, worked hard, raised three children alone, retired happily to Florida in 1985. In 1997 married Leo Madore in Florida. After Leo’s death in 2002 and her own health issues Evelyn returned to Grand Rapids.

Surviving are her daughter Linda (Phil) Franklin of Afton, Donna (Eugene) Guiher of Grand Rapids, Mich; stepdaughter Charlene (Peter) Bragg of Thetford Vermont; six grandchildren John Phil Franklin of Eldon, MO, Christopher Darrin Franklin (Michelle) of Afton, Edward Guiher (Mary) of Grand Rapids, Linda Renee and friend Patrick McMullen of Allendale, Michigan, Randall Guiher (Wendy) of Byron Center, Mich, Lisa (Steve) White of Comstock Park, Mich; five great grandchildren Sabrina, Casey, Jacob and Josie Franklin and Nicholas Guiher, step grandchildren and great grandchildren in Vermont and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding in death was her beloved son Larry Brown in 1962, parents, husband, two brothers and sisters in law Paul (Glady) McNichols, Robert (Bonnie) McNichols; one sister Pearlie Ann (Charles) Lomicka, an infant brother Max, infant sister Irene and infant great grandson Edward Jr. in 2008.

Memorials can be made to Greater Regional Hospice, Gilda’s Club or Relay for Life as Evelyn was a breast cancer survivor, or your local Humane Society.
