Home soccer

In the aftermath of last week’s cancellation of the Panther Invitational soccer tournament, Creston girls and boys will host Oakland Riverside Saturday at Panther Field.

The girls match begins at 9 a.m., followed by the boys match.

Tennis district

With rain in today’s forecast, the tennis disdtrict meet in Norwalk, including Creston/O-M, will now be played at 9 a.m. Friday.

Regional golf

CEDAR RAPIDS — Southwestern men had an incomplete team for the second day of regional tournament play Tuesday, but three individual team members participated in the event.

Top score for the Spartans was by Colin McCracken at 93-84 — 177. David Thompson was next at 94-89 — 183, while Steveie Smith shot 123-116 — 239. Jared Theis and Burn Burkhead withdrew before the conclusion of the tournament.

Kirkwood was the team champion with a score of 603. Freshman Ryan Palser of Creston is a member of the Kirkwood team, but was not in the regional lineup for the Eagles.
