Matthew Tyler Rehmeyer, 19, of Afton was charged 5:31 a.m. Sunday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center with operating while intoxicated and driving while suspended.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Casey’s Texaco for a report of a driver passed out in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, which was stopped in the entrance to Casey’s. An officer approached the vehicle and found Rehmeyer sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. After an officer woke up Reymeyer, he noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Rehmeyer. The vehicle had a key in the ignition, was running and in drive. The officer had a Union County dispatcher check Rehmeyer’s driving status, which showed as suspended. At the Law Enforcement Center, Rehmeyer consented to a standardized field sobriety test and denied consenting to a preliminary breath test or breath testing through datamaster.
Rehmeyer was released on $1,000 bond.
