CLEARFIELD — Woodside Post 97 of the American Legion has the following events scheduled in Clearfields Memorial Day Weekend:
• 8 a.m. May 25 – Decorating veteran’s graves and putting up the avenue of flags at Clearfield Cemetery. The public’s assistance is appreciated. In the event of rain, the flags go up as soon as the rain stops.
• 10 a.m. May 27 – Chaplain Al Rusk will be presenting the Memorial Day program at Clearfield Lion’s building. Prior to the program, the American Legion’s group of special-needs boys will be raising their flag on the legion’s pole on the main street. Weather permitting, after the program, the legion will go to Clearfield Cemetery and honor veterans with a 21-gun salute. This year, barring any veteran’s funerals at Clearfield Cemetery prior to Memorial Day, they will be at the grave of Cotty Huffman.
• 2 p.m. May 27 – American Legion will remove grave decorations and take down the avenue of flags. In the event of rain, this will be done as soon as the flags are dry. Again, the public’s assistance is appreciated.
