Britany Jean Weckman, 20, of Indianola was charged 11:20 p.m. Wednesday with fourth-degree theft at Wal-Mart.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifter. Officers spoke with a Walmart employee who stated he witnessed a female, later identified as Weckman, place items, valued at $476.24, into a bag and attempt to walk out of the store.

Weckman was released on $1,000 bond.

Meredith Ann Selvy, 204 N. Spruce St., reported a license plate was removed from her vehicle between Friday and Wednesday, while it was parked at her residence.
