Wayne Price Ocala, Fla.

Wayne J. Price, 86, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Vestal, N.Y., died May 5, 2013.

Funeral services were noon today, May 23, at Coleman and Daniels in Endicott, N.Y.

Wayne Jack Price, son of Louise (Lewis) and Samuel Price, was born June 10, 1926, in Sayre, Pa.

In 1942, Wayne enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II in the Pacific Fleet until 1946.

On Jan. 1, 1947, Wayne married Elma Molyneaux.

Wayne built Ross Corners Baptist Church and Ross Corners Christian Academy. He served as a deacon, taught Sunday school and many other functions.

For 27 years, Wayne was in maintenance at IBM in Owego, N.Y., until he retired in 1977.

After retirement, he and Elma served, helping to build churches in Maranatha Village, as well as many other sites in Florida. He also raised cattle on their farm.

Wayne supported Shepherds Ministries in Union Grove, Wis., for adults with developmental disabilities.

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Judy (Dave) Gittens of Harrisonburg, Va., Mary (Randy) Morgan of Lansing, Mich., Leah (Gary) Mix of Ocala, Fla., Pam Price of Savannah, Ga., and Linda Benninger of Endicott, N.Y.; sons, Philip Price of Creston and Paul (Tammy) Price of Roulette, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Adrian (Georgianna) Price of Vestal, N.Y., and John (Liz) Price of Greene, N.Y.; sister Carol Purdy Tower of Rutledge, Tenn.; and sister-in-law Sandra Price of Vestal, N.Y.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother Samuel; daughter Margaret; granddaughter Mildred Gittens; and daughter-in-law Diana Price.
