Prairie View Assisted Living breaks ground on memory care unit
People across southwest Iowa are directly affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, but Thursday’s groundbreaking at Prairie View Assisted Living may give them peace of mind.
The groundbreaking marked the start of constuction on a 7,300-square-foot memory care addition at Prairie View Assisted Living.
“We are so excited about this addition,” said Amy Edmonson, administrator at Prairie View Assisted Living. “It will offer a secure environment to residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related issues. Residents will have a private suite. ... Twenty-four hour staff will provide assistance with reminders and redirection, dressing and clothing selection, escorts to meals and activities and assistance with walking.”
