Joseph Connelly Creston

Joseph William Connelly, 61, of Creston died June 6, 2013, at his home.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Montgomery St. The Rev. Chuck Spindler will officiate.  Open visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 10, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Memorials may be made in Joseph’s name to be established.  Online condolences may be left at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com .

Joseph Connelly, son of Darlene Martha JaNon (Smith) and Leo William Connelly, was born on Jan. 9, 1952 in Creston.

Joe was raised in Afton and graduated from East Union High School in 1970. 

On Sept. 26, 1970, Joe married Vicki Lynn Bird.

Joe worked for Van Mark from 1974-1990 when he then went to work for Heat & Control Inc. based out of Hayward, Calif.  Joe was involved in sales and project management for food processing and packaging equipment, primarily potato chips.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Heather Scarberry and Shawn Connelly, both of Creston,; two grandsons, Clayton Joseph and Cason Bradley Scarberry of Creston; mother Darlene Connelly of Lorimor; sister Cheryl Aeschliman of Winterset; brothers, Paul (Liz) Connelly of Crane, Mo., and Kevin Connelly of Lorimor; sister Janet Connelly of Marshalltown; brother John (Nancy) Connelly of Afton; sister, Amelia (Scott) Wehrli of Ogden; brother Daniel (Darcy) Connelly of Wadena; brother James Connelly of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister Beth Connelly of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sister Patricia (Felix) Cortez of Denison and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his father; wife on Sept. 18, 2010; brother Patrick Connelly; sister Diane Trostheim and brother-in-law Joe Aeschliman.
