Sharon L. Farlin, 68, of Emerson died June 5, 2013, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
Private graveside service was held at the Arlington Cemetery in Villisca. A memorial is being established in Sharon’s name. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at www.sldfuneralhome.com
Sharon Lee Farlin, daughter of Jessie I. (Fail) and Samuel L. Baker was born April 9, 1945, at Villisca.
Sharon attended country school near Tinville until the third grade when the family moved to Villisca. She graduated from Villisca High School in l963.
On March 27, 1965, Sharon married Leo R. Farlin in Red Oak. They lived in Villisca and Creston. In 1981, Leo and Sharon made their home in Emerson.
Over her career, Sharon worked for Union Carbide Battery Company in Red Oak, Bunn-O-Matic in Creston and D&L and then ROMECH in Red Oak, retiring in 2006.
Sharon is survived by her son Darrell Farlin of Emerson; granddaughter Ema Farlin of Syracuse, Neb.; sister Evelyn Salway of Villisca; sisters-in-law, Donna Baker of Villisca, Jean Baker of Red Oak, Mary DeYeager of Council Bluffs, Joyce Anson of Brea, Calif., Bonnie Wilson and Connie Gary of Mississippi; brothers-in-law, David Smith of Villisca, and George Peterson of Fort Worth, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jan. 27, 2006; son Joseph; three brothers, Albert, Donald and Willis; sister Dorothy and infant siblings.
