National Skillet Throwing Championship to be held Saturday

MACKSBURG — The National Skillet Throwing Championship has been set for Saturday at Macksburg City Park.

It will be a team competition with five members and two alternates (if needed).

Team sign-in will be 11 a.m. to noon. Provide team member’s names and pay an entry fee of $20. The competition will begin at noon.

A team trophy will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners, and to the high male and female, who will be determined the national champions.

If you will be entering a team, notify the National Skillet Throw Chairman Georgena Breakenridge at 641-344-6065 or 641-768-2471. Checks may be made payable to the Community Efforts of Macksburg (CEM).

Also, there will be an all-day flea market, sandwiches served in the park by CEM and pie auction.

A children’s pedal pull will be held at 10:30 a.m.

A parade will be held at 10 a.m. All are welcome to be in the parade. Line up at the CEM building.

The event is sponsored by CEM.
