Lenox 8, Nod. Valley 3

ORIENT — Lenox scored five runs in the third inning in an 8-3 win over Nodaway Valley in the Orient-Macksburg Tournament here on Wednesday.

Lauren Hensley allowed just six hits and struck out two in the win for the Tigers.

Katie Dukes starred at the plate for Lenox, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Hensley went 4-4, while Aurora Arevalo went 3-4. Hannah Maxa and Madison Douglas each collected two hits.

Maxa and Chelsie Dukes each drove in two runs.

For the Wolverines, Josie Carter went 2-4 with a double. Sidney Hohertz and Megan Eblen each drove in one run.

Paige McElfish struck out five batters in the losing effort.

Lenox improved to 10-3 overall, with undefeated second-ranked Martensdale-St. Marys up next on the schedule. Nodaway Valley dropped to 7-10 overall, playing Class 3A state-ranked Interstate 35 next.

Murray 12, M.-Udell 0

MURRAY — Kate Patton moved to 6-0 on a two-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks and an 11-hit attack supporting her in a 12-0 Murray victory over Moulton-Udell Thursday night.
