Daniel James Perkins Sr., 37, 1503 N. Lincoln St., Apt. 5, was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, driving while suspended and failure to prove security against liability after an accident 10:40 a.m. Saturday at North Sumner and West Howard streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Perkins, driving a 2000 Dodge, and Ashley Marie Price, 26, 1013 Manor Drive, Apt. 3, driving a 2008 Ford, were both traveling south in the 400 block of North Sumner Street. Price slowed and stopped to yield to oncoming traffic before turning left onto West Howard Street. Perkins was traveling too closely and failed to yield to Price, resulting in Perkins colliding with Price’s vehicle. Perkins was at fault for the accident and left the scene. Law enforcement located Perkins at Creston Park Apartments, where he stated he ran because he was driving with a suspended license and was unable to prove insurance because he was in the process of purchasing the vehicle from the registered owner. Perkins sought further medical attention, and Price and three passengers of the vehicle were treated on scene by Greater Regional Medical Center and released.

Damage estimates are $1,000 to Perkins’ vehicle and $3,000 to Price’s vehicle.
