Randy Eugene Overholtzer, 43, 1309 Miller St., was charged with public intoxication 1:15 a.m. Sunday at McKinley Park in Creston.
According to a Creston Police report, park officials notified officers of a male, who had jumped up on stage at Party in the Park and needed to be escorted out of the park. An officer observed Overholtzer raise his arms in a threatening manner to people standing around him and smelled a stong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him. Overholtzer was also slurring his words and had watery blood-shot eyes. Overholtzer resisted help from friends, who were attempting to escort him out of the park. Overholtzer was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, where he refused a breath test and was turned over to the Union County Sheriffs Department.
Overholtzer was released on promise to appear.
Jason Robert Oglesbee, 49, 205 E. Mills St., was charged on a Union County warrant for simple assault 5:26 p.m. Friday at the Union County Law Enforcement Center.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to 312 W. Montgomery St. 6:35 p.m. June 7 for an assault. Witnesses and the victim explained that Oglesbee and another man entered the business and began talking to the victim. Oglesbee was talking to the victim the oither man walked up behind the victim, struck him in the back of the head with a hammer, which caused a minor laceration on the back of the victim’s head. Oglesbee then punched the victim in the mouth causing a minor laceration to his lip.
Oglesbee was released on $300 bond.
Marshall Ray Keate, 20, 401 S. Elm St., was charged with public intoxication at his residence 11:42 p.m. Friday.
According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to Keates residence for an intoxicated male. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Keate on a public sidewalk. While speaking with an officer, it was observed Keate had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Keate was then transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, where he consented to a sample of his breath through a DataMaster, which indicated a blood-alcohol content of .232.
Keate was released on $300 bond.
Alissa Jill Jennings, 41, 613 N. Elm St., was charged with four counts of false imprisonment 11:05 p.m. Saturday at her residence.
According to a Creston Police report, Jennings would not let Jacob Calvin, 8, Tristan Ballard, 12, Sonya Ballard, no age given, and Sebastian Peterson, no age given, leave her residence. Statements from by the children stated Jennings told them they could not leave. No indication was made that any of these youths were staying at Jennings’ residence. The youths were visiting Jenning’s son Tyler.
Jennings was released on $1,000 bond.
Vincent Moody, 3810 Henry A. Wallace Rd., reported a flatbed trailer, four mud tires, a spare tire, two Ford mud flaps and box flat containing miscellaneous tools were taken between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9:20 a.m. Friday while it was parked at 801 N. Birch St.
Loss estimate is $1,070.
