Panther freshmen drop two to Winterset

Winterset topped the Creston freshman softball team by scores of 12-0 and 14-2 here on Tuesday.

Huskies pitcher Macy Johnson struck out six of the nine Panther batters she faced in the game.

Cammy Rutherford pitched for Creston, giving up 12 runs on three hits in two innings. Rutherford struck out one batter and hit four.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Morghan Frey and Kiersten Plowman each had RBI groundouts for the Panthers in the loss. Hannah Fogle and Hannah Hood scored the two Panther runs.

Hood finished 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, while Frey was 1-2 with a single.

Fogle pitched the first two innings for Creston, giving up nine runs on three hits and six walks. Frey pitched two innings of relief, giving up six runs on three hits and four walks.
