Recycling, waste and water

I’m confused. City Carton, which was Waste Management, no longer runs the recycling program for Creston? It will now be operated by Prairie Solid Waste, which is actually Union County. The building located along Highway 34 west (I have no clue who actually owns that one) will seem to operate the same, and we will still be able to drop our cardboard at that location, which Waste Management has absolved itself from, yet continues to store its dumpsters at that site.

Who will transfer waste from that location to Prairie Solid Waste’s primary location, which will then transport that waste to West Des Moines to further be processed because our own “it’ll only cost a million dollars” transfer station, can’t handle the workload. So now, we (Union County-alias Prairie Solid Waste) will operate two transfer stations, but only one that is operational for sorting? The other, merely for filling the truck to West Des Moines? Seems like a lot of work, just to get rid of the garbage we create, that a few of the old guys used to handle with a few pickup trucks to cover the town sufficiently.

On another note, the city should take the control of the water department back under its wing, instead of letting it be its own entity.
