Arlan Tarbell Creston
Arlan Tarbell, 66, of Creston died June 26, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 1, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dave Tebbenkamp and the Rev. Dan Fields will officiate. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Open visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 25 and 34. Arlan Delane Tarbell, son of Mae Ruth (Hull) and Delbert Charles Tarbell, was born Nov. 23, 1946, in Fairfield.
Arlan graduated from Cardinal High School in Eldon.
On Feb. 15, 1971, Arlan married Flo Jean (Orfield) Siegenthaler in Blackwell, Okla. They lived in Greenfield, Des Moines and later in Knoxville for 14 years, before moving to Creston in 1989.
Arlan worked for Colonial Baking Company for 33 years as a route salesman, retiring in 1998. He then worked for Hy-Vee in Creston, the First Baptist Church in 2000-2001 and 12 years at Hy-Vee, retiring because of health problems in January 2013.
Arlan was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Arlan is survived by his wife Flo Tarbell of Creston; daughters, Tonnya (husband Ricky) Griffitt of Cuffman, Ala., Teresa Ludwig (Mike Lycke) of Nevada, Brenda (husband Gary) Schneider of Knoxville and Malena Tarbell (fiancé Kevin Trueblood) of Cedar Rapids; son Terry (wife Kim) Tarbell of Melborne; brothers, Arvin (wife Becky) Tarbell of Altoona and Delwin (wife Bev) Tarbell of Alfa, Ill.; sisters, Karlin Blizzard of Fremont and Jolene (husband Russell) Lundstrom of Bloomfield; sisters-in-law, Nancy Tarbell of Burlington and Marty Frye of Mansfield, Texas; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Arlan was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan, Darwin and Ardyce Tarbell and sister Gayla Tarbell.
