Nodaway Valley 9, Adair-Casey 6
ADAIR — Aaron Baudler hit a three-run homer in the first inning to spark Nodaway Valley to an early lead in a 9-6 victory over Adair-Casey Wednesday.
Trevor Jameson was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI for the Wolverines (10-9). Jackson Lamb was 2-3 with two RBI and earned the pitching victory with two strikeouts, one walk and eight hits allowed in four innings. Ryan Williams got the ave with seven strikeouts and two walks in three innings.
Zach Eblen added a pair of hits for NV.
LENOX — Dustyn Rauch was 4-for-4 with three RBI as Lenox pounded Bedford, 18-3, in four innings Thursday.
Dusten Reed knocked in three runs for Lenox (13-&) and Hugo Montiel had two RBI. Todd Stoaks drove in three runs on a double and single. mason Peterson had two hits and one RBI.
Winning pitcher Caleb Lange struck out four, walked four and allowed two hits.
Justin Folkerts had two RBI for Bedford. Four Bedford pitchers allowed a total of 12 Lenox hits.
Mount Ayr 5, Nodaway Valley 1
GREENFIELD — Mount Ayr picked up a 5-1 win over Nodaway Valley Thursday to split the season series between the two Pride of Iowa Conference rivals.
Jake Still picked up the win for the Raiders, throwing seven innings and allowing just one run on three hits with one walk and six strikeouts.
Jacob Taylor went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored. Zane Sickels singled and stole two bases. Heath Evans, Weston Schnoor, John Triggs, Austin Quick, Dylan Doman and Nick Wurster all picked up a hit in a balanced attack.
Casey Ladd was charged with the loss for the Wolverines, going 5 1/3 innings with four strikeouts and seven hits. Trevor Jameson pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief with two strikieouts and one walk.
Zach Eblen was 2-4 with a double, while Aaron Baudler was 1-3.
East Union 14, Corning 4
AFTON — East Union defeated Corning, 14-4, here Thursday night.
Cole Campbell picked up the win for the Eagles, whlie Drey Barton and Lance Swartz shared pitching duties for the Red Raiders, with Barton taking the loss.
Barton singled and drove in two runs for Corning, as Ryan Carlson and Keegan Longabaugh each drove in one run. Longabaugh singled and doubled.
For East Union, Campbell and Tyler Kelley each scored three runs. Brandon Hulsey and Jeremiah Crago each crossed home plate twice.
“We simply gave away too many runs with shoddy fielding,” Corning head coach Pete Nett said. “We had some bright spots — the third and fourth innings were about as well as we have played all year, but in the end, we dug ourselves too deep of a hole to get all the way out.”
MURRAY — Murray improved to 13-4 for the season with an 8-5 win over Moravia here Thursday.
The Mustangs collected 13 hits as a team.
Cody Scroggie went 3-for-4 with a double and a stolen base. Austin Halls was 3-3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases. Justin Jones was 3-3 with a double.
Scroggie picked up the win on the mound, going 4 1/3 innings with just one hit and no earned runs with five strikeouts.
