Creston golfers retain SW Iowa junior trophy

Creston retained the traveling trophy as 2013 champion of the Southwest Iowa Junior Golf tournament series.

The final tournament was held Tuesday at Shenandoah. Creston earned 19 points in the Shenandoah tournament, which was the most points earned this year for a single tournament.

Coach Joyce Clark said complete results from the tournament were not available at press time, but Creston results follow:

Final team standings — 1. Creston 83; 2. Clarinda 65; 3. Atlantic 59; 4. Red Oak 16; 5. Shenandoah 16.

Shenandoah Tournament

Girls 10-11 — 1 Rylie Driskell, Creston, 57; 2. Sydney Hartsock, Creston, 72; 3. Caitlin Clark, Creston, 72.

Girls 12-13 — 1. Ashton Carter, Creston, 49.

Girls 14-16 — 1. Madison Hance, Creston, 51; 2. Courtney Clark, Creston, 58.

Boys 9 & under — 1. Colby Burg, Creston, 24; 2. Kaden Hudek, Creston, 27. Also, Kyle Strider.

Boys 10-11 — Beau Thompson, Isaac Jacobson, Cole Strider.

Boys 12-13 — 3. Gavin Sickels, Creston, 47.

This is the fourth consecutive year Creston has won the trophy.
