Mick Landers, Creston’s assistant fire chief, scored his first hole-in-one Monday on No. 6 at Crestmoor golf club.
Landers used a 9-iron on the 130-yard hole. The shot was witnessed by Ben Landers and Greg Driskell.
Lindsey (Medders) Fennelly and Kelsey Bolte, former All-Americans at Iowa State University, will conduct a basketball camp in Creston July 11 as part of the “Twister Sister” training tour this summer.
Session I for grades kindergarten through sixth grade will be 3 to 5 p.m., with session II for grades 7-12 from 5 to 7 p.m. This camp is for boys and girls.

The Creston Shootout for girls basketball will be held Sunday at Creston High School and Creston Middle School.
Games will consist of seven-minute quarters with a running clock except for the last two minutes of the game if the score is within 10 points.
Creston will have varsity and JV squads participating.
The 16th annual Creston Chamber of Commerce Four-Person Best Shot Golf Tournament will be held July 12 at Pine Valley and Crestmoor Golf Club.
Reservations are due today. The tournament is listed to the first 36 teams. Cost is $250 for golf, lunch and taco bar for a team of four. Carts are included for those who need team.
Individually, cost is $63 and the Chamber will match up golfers to form a team.
Taco bar or lunch only for spouses and friends is $8 each. Hole sponsorships are $100 each.

GREENFIELD — The Nodaway Valley cross country camp for girls and boys entering grades 7-12 will be held July 1-5, with time periods of 8 to 10 a.m. or 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. available.
Fee is $15, which includes camp T-shirt and Gatorade each day.
The Nodaway Valley boys basketball camp for boys entering grades 2-8 will be held from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. July 8-12.
Fee of $35 includes T-shirt and awards for contests in three age divisions. This is one of the longest continuous camps in southwest Iowa, with 60 campers from eight communities involved last year.
