Golda Eden, 98, of Afton died June 28, 2013, at Afton Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at Powers Funeral Home, 612 N. Dodge St., Afton. The Rev. Jim Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Open visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to be established. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.
Golda Viola Eden, daughter of Mary Catherine (Downey) and Oral Edward Flohra, was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Pleasant Township near Thayer.
Golda was educated at Creston schools.
On April 8, 1941, Golda married Gene Lynch in Creston.
They settled north of Creston on a farm where Golda worked as a farm wife and homemaker, along with working for a total of 25 years at the Creston Greenhouse and later at Kelly’s Flowers.
Gene died Feb. 9, 1960.
On Feb. 25, 1961, Golda married Carl W. “Bill” Eden in Creston.
They settled in Afton where she continued to work as a homemaker. She also helped clean the bank in Afton.
Golda is survived by her brother Howard (wife Rita) Flohra of Las Vegas, Nev.; many nieces, nephews and family.
In addtion to her first husband, Golda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl W. “Bill” Eden in 1985; and brothers, Dalton and Claude Flohra.
