GREENFIELD — Adair County Extension will be hosting a supper 5 to 7 p.m. July 11, during the Greenfield Farmers’ Market, featuring hamburgers and pork burgers grilled by Adair County Cattlemen and Adair County Pork Producers, along with baked beans, watermelon, bars and drink.
Free-will donations will be accepted to support the Adair County 4-H program. The 4-H program reaches more than 400 Adair County youths annually through 4-H community clubs, Clover Kids and out-of-school enrichment programs, including summer day camps.
Face painting, 4-H tattoos, ring toss and ladderball, Livestock Skill-A-Thons and coloring pages of the 2013 county fair T-shirt will be available for entertainment.
The audience may get a glimpse of some of the talent that will be appearing as part of the county fair Share the Fun program. A number of members will perform their talent beginning at 6 p.m.
Adair County Fair Queen candidates will also be introduced at the farmers’ market. Candidates are set to take the stage at 7 p.m.
The actual crowning of the Adair County Fair Queen will be the opening night of the fair, July 17, during opening ceremonies scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in the fairgrounds courtyard.
New this year, county fair passes will not be mailed to 4-H exhibitors. Fair passes must be picked up at Adair County Extension July 16 or at the 4-H office on the fairgrounds July 17. To help with this process, Extension staff will have passes available for pickup during the farmers’ market. The general public may also purchase four-day fair passes that evening.
