Charles Wayne Fry, 28, 302 E. Irving St., was charged 10:48 p.m. Monday with public intoxication and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Vine Street for a domestic disturbance. Officers spotted Fry lying on the sidewalk and screaming obscenities in front of his residence. Upon speaking with Fry, an officer noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Fry, who told officers he had been drinking all day and wanted to go to bed. Fry was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center, where he picked up a telephone and broke it against a desk and repeatedly kicked a desk, which he put a large dent in. Damage at the LEC exceeds $200, but not $500.

Fry was being held on $1,000 bond.


Cheryl Harper, 306 North St., Apt. A, reported the rear window of her vehicle was broken Sunday evening. While investigating vandalism to Harper’s vehicle, an officer also noticed multiple holes in the siding of her residence, which appeared to be made by a BB or pellet gun.

Damage estimate is $250 to Harper’s vehicle and $250 to the siding.


Linda Hughes, 1509 N. Mulberry St., reported two vehicle tires on her vehicle were cut while it was parked in the north lot of the Bill Sears complex Friday.

Damage estimate is $600.


Marlene Kiddo, 311 N. Chestnut St., reported a leather couch, chair, 32-inch and 28-inch flat screen televisions, craftsman tool chest and an assortment of mechanic tools were taken from her storage unit, 301 Industrial Parkway., between June 17 and Monday.

Loss estimate is $4,000.
