Ruth Miller, 79, of Creston died July 1, 2013, at Winterset Care Center North.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Jim Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery north of Creston. Visitation with family present will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Cancer Centers of America, Alzheimer’s Association and Jerusalem Church. Ruth Ann Miller, daughter of Loa Maxine (Berry) and Floyd Samuel Kline, was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Union County.

Ruth graduated from Creston High School in 1952.

On Aug. 30, 1953, Ruth married C. Wayne Miller in Creston.

Together they farmed. Ruth was a farm wife and also served lunch at the elementary schools.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of Union County and longtime member of the Jerusalem Methodist Church and Lincoln Neighbors Club.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Randy (wife Diana) Miller and Doug (wife Rhonda) Miller, all of Creston; daughters, Kathy (husband Pat) Nauroth of Beatrice, Neb., and Julie (husband Scott) Tindall of Urbandale; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister Kay Manatrey Paxton of Valparaiso, Ind.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1996.
