A spectacular Independence Day
Creston’s streets were flooded with festivities as residents gathered Thursday to celebrate Independence Day.
Early birds were browsing and shopping the Scholastic book fair, farmers’ market and flea market early Thursday in uptown prior to staking out their seats to watch Creston’s annual Fourth of July parade.
By 10 a.m., sidewalks were filled with parade-goers, many who displayed their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white and blue attire. Creston fire and area departments kicked off the parade by sounding their sirens, which perked the ears of children standing by ready to catch candy launched from passing floats.
