Ron Kingery, 69, of Lenox died July 2, 2013, at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.
Memorial celebration of life services were 11 a.m. today, July 5, at the United Presbyterian Church in Lenox. Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Main St., Lenox, was in charge of arrangements. Ronald “Ron” Kingery, son of Ronald and Mildred Kingery, was born July 18, 1943, in Corning. Most of Ron’s younger years were spent in Corning, where he was raised by his paternal grandparents, Chester and Grace Ann Kingery.
Ron graduated from Corning High School in 1964.
On Nov. 11, 1969, Ron married Norma May Miller. Ron and Norma divorced in 1974, but later reunited in marriage on July 4, 2002.
Ron played for the Clarinda A’s.
Ron lived in many different places throughout his life. Besides Iowa, he also lived in Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts and Michigan. During his time away from Iowa, he worked many jobs including security, pest control, waste management and at different factories. He was also a member of the National Guard and Reserves for several years.
After his health started to decline, Ron did odd jobs including being a mail carrier for about two years for the Omaha World Herald.
Ron is survived by his wife Norma of Lenox; sons, Sean (wife Jaye) Kingery of Lenox and Brandy of Des Moines; daughter Jessica Miller of Lenox; stepdaughter Susie Sparks of Lenox; stepsons, Joshua Camden (Jessica Wambold) of Lenox and Jacob (wife Jeanny) Camden of Gravity; 15 grandchildren; great-grandchild Frankie Grace; brother John; sisters, Deb (husband Tim), Barb, Linda and Sharon; many other friends and family.
