Linda Green Creston

Linda Green, 52, of Creston, formerly of Osceola, died July 4, 2013, from injuries sustained in a car accident northeast of Creston.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Orval “Butch” Black will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Open visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Linda Ann Green, daughter of Patricia Ann (Claiser) and Dwight Edwin Green, was born March 16, 1961, in Clarke County.

Linda graduated from Interstate 35 High School in 1979. She went on to study at Southwestern Community College and Buena Vista College, majoring in accounting.

Linda lived and worked in Clarke County in accounting and daycare service.

In 1991, Linda moved to Afton and later Creston, continuing in her accounting and daycare work. She had also worked at Walmart.

Linda was a member of Creston Eagles and former member, treasurer and secretary for the Iowa Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals.

Linda is survived by her sons, Brandon Garner (Kathlene Hammond), Roger Garner, Derek (wife Amber) Fluckey and Dakota Burgmaier, all of Creston; daughters, Brandi Lynn Garner and Makayla Burgmaier, both of Creston; mother Pat Green of Osceola; grandchildren, Lily Edwards, Patrick Garner, Dillian and Alexis Utley and Garrett and Kolton Garner; stepbrothers, Orville “Butch” (wife Pam) Black III and Greg (Toni Barber) Black, all of Osceola; sisters, Carla Jones of Weldon and Julie (husband Rande) LaFollette of Des Moines; stepsister Jeannie (husband Ed) Woosley of Creston; six nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Thelma Green and Dan and Marge Claiser; father and stepfather Orval Black Jr.
