DES MOINES — Mediacom announced that it will provide statewide television coverage for the upcoming Iowa Girls High School Softball Championship games. Iowans will be able to tune-in on cable television and watch Mediacom’s live coverage of all five championship games to be played Friday, July 26.
In partnership with the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU), Mediacom is providing live, statewide coverage of the tournament finale that will determine the 2013 champions in each class. Coverage will start at 10 a.m. with the Class 1A game and will continue with back-to-back coverage for Class 2A at 12:15 pm; Class 3A at 2:30 pm; Class 4A at 4:45 pm; and Class 5A at 7 pm.
Friday’s softball tournament coverage will be shown exclusively on MC22, a basic cable channel available to all Mediacom subscribers in Iowa and surrounding states. Repeat broadcasts of each championship game will be shown on MC22 during the following weeks.
To expand coverage of Iowa girls high school athletic competition, Mediacom provided replay coverage of the 2013 Girls State Soccer Tournament held last month in Des Moines. Live coverage will continue with Mediacom’s coverage of the high school volleyball championship tournament to be held in November.
In addition to watching games on MC22, customers with digital cable service can view the events anytime using the OnDemand channel. OnDemand program selections include recent tournaments, a variety of high school sports, music and other student competitions.
