Sunday, a group of 54 will return from the 30th trip to the Appalachian Mountains after spending five days working on homes in Breathitt County, Kentucky.
Former members and family members are asked to come share stories and memories 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, where it all began.
Thirty years ago, Becky Riley took the first group of five people on ASP, and the mission began in Creston. Funds have been raised each year to travel to the Appalachian Mountains to help others make their homes safer, warmer and drier. Hundreds have experienced this mission over the past 30 years with many going 10, 20 and more years to serve others.
Join us in the celebration and share some ice cream and fellowship. Park on the south side of the parking lot to make room for the vans and trucks returning to pull in next to the church.
