LENOX — The Office, 122 N. Main St., in Lenox, opened Wednesday with a new look and menu — and new owners!

The bar and restaurant, formerly owned by Evelyn Graham, of Clearfield, and her son Don Graham, of Lenox, was sold to Mark and Anna Sprouse after 4 and a-half years.

Mark, the sales and finance manager at Stalker Chevrolet in Creston, formerly of Oskaloosa, is no stranger to the business. Mark has more than 10 years of bar experience with his former bars, The Cellar Peanut Pub and Lucky’s Night Club, both in Oskaloosa.

“We are really excited to be starting our new venture in Lenox,” said Mark. “The people we’ve met so far have been fantastic and look forward to becoming a part of this community.”

Changes

Aside from two large flatscreens televisions, new furniture, bar top and a coat of paint, Anna mentioned some menu modifications.

“We will be continuing to serve their famous tenderloin sandwich,” she said. “We felt it deserved its own name and have aptly named it The Boss.”

Mark’s talent with smoked meats will add additional flavor to the menu. Some lighter fare, like chicken salad with avocado on a butter croissant, chef salad and the Monte Cristo sandwich are also new additions.

“Our menu will be made from scratch as much as we can with daily lunch specials and some finer dining dinner specials on weekend evenings.” said Anna.

“Piled-high sandwiches” have been added to the menu and one is described as a fresh burger stacked with Mark’s pulled pork. If that’s not enough, you might try some fresh made onion rings and chicken wings.

“One of the highlights of The Office has got to be the Water Cooler,” Anna Sprouse said of a specialty mixed-drink, exclusive to The Office.

The Office also has a fully stocked bar featuring four beers on tap; Blue Moon Belgian White, Coors Light, Fat Tire Amber Ale and Leinenkugel Summer Shandy.

Specials

For the reopening this week, The Office’s $3 special is a smoked pulled-pork sandwich with homemade coleslaw or potato salad on the side.

Regulars can expect to see familiar faces, as well as some additional cook and waitstaff.

The Office is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. To view the menu and receive updates on lunch and dinner specials, visit The Office on Facebook by searching for “The Office in Lenox.”
