Threasiea A. O’Daniels Independence, Mo.

Threasiea A. O’Daniels, 92, of Independence, Mo., died July 24, 2013, at the home of her daughter Patricia Gates of Independence, Mo.

Her body has been donated to the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Missouri Valley, where she was born and lived most of her life. Memorials may be given to Outreach International, 129 W. Lexington, Independence, MO 64050.

Threasiea A. O’Daniels, daughter of Zenas and Bernice Varns, was born March 22, 1921.

Threasiea moved from Iowa to Independence, Mo., shortly after the death of her husband Thomas J. O’Daniels, to whom she was married for 51 years.

In her later years, Threasiea was a volunteer guide for the history museum in the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Mo., and a promoter of her favorite charity, Outreach International, sponsored by the Community of Christ world church.

Threasiea is survived by her children, Patricia Gates of Independence, Mo., Gary O’Daniels of Creston, Carol Johnson of Missouri Valley and Marilyn Compton of Hollister, Mo.; brother Marvin (wife Phyllis) Varns of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Threasiea was preceded in death by her brother Donald Varns.
