Wyonne Guthrie, 73, of Creston died Aug. 1, 2013, at Clearview Home in Mount Ayr.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. Mary O’Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery. Open visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Creston Animal Rescue Effort (CARE). Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Vella Wyonne Guthrie, daughter of Alta Mae (Dudney) and Ralph Elwood Guthrie, was born Sept. 3,1939, in Leon.

Wyonne graduated from Lenox High School.

Wyonne worked for the telephone company from 1959 to 1968, then worked for Wellmans for the next four years. She worked at Creston Transfer from 1972 to 1979 and then GTE from 1979 to 1980. She also worked at Gits for three months.

Wyonne drove a school bus from 1982 until 2001, and also worked at Innovative Industries from 1990 until 2001.

Wyonne is survived by her sister-in-law Darlette Guthrie of Sioux Falls, S.D.; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Wyonne was preceded in death by her parents; brother Harold Guthrie and sister Eillene Siebarth.
