Isabel Trost Lenox

Isabel Trost, 90, of Lenox died Aug. 8, 2013, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Celebration of life memorial services were 11 a.m. today, Aug. 12, at Lenox United Methodist Church. Interment of ashes was in North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Main St., Lenox, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given in Isabel’s name. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com.

Bess Isabel (Horton) Trost, daughter of Mabel (Moore) and Clyde Horton, was born April 20, 1923, in Taylor County.

In her early years, Isabel attended schools in Conway and Bedford. Later her family moved to a farm southwest of Shannon City, where she attended high school and graduated in 1941.

After graduation, Isabel was employed at the Creston Hospital and Palms Café in Creston.

On Oct. 23, 1943, Isabel married Raymond Trost in Phoenix, Ariz.

She was later employed at Pantex Ordnance Plant in Amarillo, Texas, while Raymond served in the military.

Upon Raymond’s discharge from the service, he and Isabel farmed in the Kent and Lenox areas until 1978, when they semi-retired. During this time she worked at the Kent Store, Lenox fertilizer plant and First National Bank in Lenox for many years.

Isabel was a member of Lenox United Methodist Church.

Raymond died in August 2010. Isabel moved to Vintage Park after her 90th birthday.

Isabel is survived by her daughter Terry (husband Dale) Kriz of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Mike (wife Carol) Trost and Randy (wife Cindy) Trost, all of Lenox; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other family members and a community of friends.

In addition to her husband, Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, a sister and an infant sister.
