Alice Husband Bedford

Alice Husband, 93, of Bedford died Aug. 8, 2013, at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. today, Aug. 13, at Siam Church of Christ. Russ Clark officiated. Burial was in Memory Cemetery in New Market. Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given in Alice’s name. Online condolences may be left at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com.

Alice Lucile Husband, daughter of Bertha (Whitehead) and Axsel Eden, was born Jan. 10, 1920, near Hepburn.

Alice attended country schools in Page and Taylor counties and graduated from New Market High School in 1937. Alice earned a Bachelor of Science teaching degree from Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Mo., in 1943.

Alice was a school teacher for several years.

On Aug. 8, 1956, Alice married Mervin Husband, and they have lived on a farm near Bedford for 57 years.

Alice is survived by her husband Mervin Husband of Bedford; daughter Kathy (husband Marvin) Umphry; granddaughter Amanda Husband (spouse Brad Reed); great-grandson Allen William Reed; other relatives and many friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents and brother Burdell Eden.
