Fire at Dalton Ag in Lenox causes major damage

A fire at Dalton Ag, 602 E. Van Buren St., occured about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to Lenox Volunteer Fire Chief Kirk O’Riley, damage estimate to the building is approximately several hundred-thousand dollars. Most damage was done to a painting booth in the building.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, and Iowa State Fire Marshall’s Office has been contacted to investigate the cause of the fire. Responding to the fire were Lenox, Clearfield, Corning and Creston fire departments, as well as Taylor County Ambulance, Lenox Police Department and Taylor County Sheriff. Lenox firefighters finally left the scene 2 a.m. today.
