Kathy Ott Ottawa, Kan.

Kathy Ott, 48, of Ottawa, Kan., died July 27, 2013, at her home.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, at Orient United Methodist Church with family present 6 to 8 p.m.

Kathy Lynn Dooley Ott, daughter of Lee and Betty Dooley, was born Feb. 27, 1965, in Hamburg.

Kathy attended school in Shenandoah and Creston and graduated from Creston High School. She attended Southwestern Community College and received nursing assistant certification in 1983.

Kathy was a member of the Jaycees of Creston and Orient United Methodist Church.

Kathy is survived by her parents of Olathe, Kan.; daughter Jessica (husband Nels Jr.) Peterson of Gardner, Kan.; sons, Colby and Brandon Ott of Ottawa, Kan.; grandchildren, Katelynn, Nels III, Zakary and Jocelynn Peterson of Gardner, Kan., and Ryan and Justin Ott of Ottawa, Kan.; sisters, Cindy (husband Greg) Chambers of Helena, Mo., and Sandy (husband Brady) Buzick and Pam (husband, Tony) Minenna, all of Olathe, Kan.; many nieces and nephews; ex-mother-in-law Ruth Ott of Orient; best friend and ex-husband Joseph Ott of Ottawa, Kan.; and cats, Suzi Q and lil Bear.

Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Uncle Don Roof, Aunt Phyllis Schafner and poodle Brittney.
