Nominations being accepted for High Lakes Leadership Initiative

Published: Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 11:14 a.m. CST

The High Lakes Leadership Initiative Board of Directors is now seeking nominations for the class of 2014.

This local leadership development opportunity is now entering into its fifth year of programming. This learning opportunity is unlike any other and is for those who live, work and/or conduct business in Union County.

“I participated in High Lakes Leadership because we had recently returned to southwest Iowa to raise our family,” said Chris Eaton, loan officer at First National Bank in Creston (Class of 2013). “The program has introduced me to the county’s assets and has brought to my attention how this area has changed and who are the current leaders in the community. As a person in southwest Iowa, it has been my goal to become active within the community and helping continue to make the community better.”

Nine sessions will be held on a bi-weekly basis starting Jan. 22, 2014, through May 14, 2014.

The sessions are held in various locations throughout Union County and focus on community capitals and instilling leadership skills. The program is an opportunity to provide professional development in your workplace on an annual basis.

Nominations must be received by Sept. 30. To make a nomination or for more information, call (641) 782-2003 or visit www.highlakesleadership.com.
