Lenox running game rolls past EU in Zero Week matchup

Published: Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 12:38 a.m. CDT

East Union put the first two points on their new scoreboard, but Lenox stormed back for the 50-2 victory in Eight-Man Zero Week action on Friday night in Afton.

Junior Dustyn Rauch rushed for three Tiger touchdowns. Teammate Dustin Gordon added three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown to Spencer Brown.

Eagle's head coach Steve Kinyon said their young squad needed to give quarterback Trevor Barnett more protection and he wanted to see more aggressive play on both sides of the ball.

Lenox head coach Allen Dukes said one area the Tigers will focus on improving is the offensive line. After losing two of the three linemen to graduation, Dukes said the line will be a critical part to keep their running game effective.
