Adams County Sheriff

Mikel Olin Hilton, 19, and Jacob David Jones, 19, both of Corning, were charged 10:43 a.m. Monday with simple assault and fifth-degree theft.

According to an Adams County Sheriff report, Hilton and Jones went to Hy-Vee in Corning, took a package of cigarettes worth $6.09 and assaulted a Hy-Vee manager.

Hilton and Jones are being held without bail.
