Union County Sheriff

Michael Dean Williams, 42, 211 Peterson St., was charged 10:16 p.m. Tueday on a Union County warrant for third-offence operating while intoxicated.

According to a Union County Sheriff report, deputies were dispatched 4:29 p.m. Aug. 14 to a personal injury accident at the intersection of 210th and Willow streets. During the accident investigation, it was found that Williams had been operating a vehicle that was involved in the accident. Williams ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was injured and had to be air-lifted for treatment. Williams was transported to Greater Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Williams smelled of an alcoholic beverage, and it was believed he was impaired. Williams consented to a blood alcohol test, and the test read that his blood alcohol content was .286. Williams has two previous OWI convictions and currently has a revoked license.

Williams is being held in Union County Jail on $5,000 bond.
