Rick Schofield Creston

Rick Schofield, 59, of Creston died Sept. 11, 2013, at his home.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25. The Rev. Doug Brunell will officiate. Memorials can be given to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Ricky Lee Schofield, son of Thelma Louise (Abell) and Harold Melvin Schofield, was born Dec. 8, 1953, in Creston.

Rick attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1973. Rick graduated from the Southwestern Community College auto mechanic program July 26, 1974.

Rick was a lifetime Creston resident. He worked for Martin and Son Automotive after high school and began his employment at M&M Motors in Creston Nov. 1, 1974.

On Sept. 4, 1980, Rick married Rita Ruth Martin in Creston.

Rick continued to work at M&M until Feb. 1, 2013.

Rick recently worked for Carlisle Automotive in Creston.

Rick is survived by his wife Rita Schofield of Creston; son Mac (wife Erin) Cornelison of Cedar Rapids; daughter Danielle Schofield of Creston; grandchildren, Ricky and Cadon Cornelison; step-grandchildren, Ethan and Brandon Hutchens; and many cousins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister Jeanie Seals; and brother and sister-in-law Gary and Virginia Seals.
