West, Crill wed in June ceremony

CORNING — Lara Marie West and Chase Deane Crill, both of Carl, were married June 22 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning.

The bride is the daughter of Kathryn West of Prescott and Tim West of Winterset. The groom is the son of Jeff and Martha Crill of Corning.

The Rev. Lazarus Kirigia officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony. Music was provided by pianist Marilea Mullen of Corning and vocalist Lincoln Decklever of Des Moines, cousin of the groom. Readers were Tim and Kathy Ennis of Corning, the couple’s sponsors from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

The bride was escorted down the aisle and given away by her brother Taylor West. She wore a floor-length, sleeveless, off-white gown made of tulle and floral lace with a sheer bateau neckline. The floral lace was accented with beads that reached the train of the dress with a mermaid skirt. The bride wore a veil made of tulle with a thin satin cord detail. She carried a bouquet of light yellow hydrangeas accented by handmade pendants of her late brother Dane West and grandfather John T. Moore.

Maid of honor was Cassidy Stroud of Waterloo. Bridesmaids were Trina Day of Camden Point, Mo., and Sydney Wasteney of Waukee, both cousins of the bride, Katie Hogan of Osceola and Amanda Jaramillo Ayon of Waukee.

Bridesmaids wore floor-length sleeveless yellow lux chiffon gowns with blouson bodice and cowl necklines accented with chunky ivory pearl necklaces. The bouquets consisted of cream hydrangeas with burlap detail.

Best man was Clay Mercer of Brooks. Groomsmen were Brandyn Crill and Clint Crill, brothers of the groom, Taylor West, brother of the bride, all of Prescott, and James Houck of Corning.

Ushers were Brant McCuen of Corning, Tyler Dykstra of Paullina, Nick Meyer of Des Moines and Derek Wilkerson of Adel.

Groomsmen and ushers wore gray vests with ivory shirts, yellow ties matching the bridesmaids and gray pants.

Flower girl was Raegan Kinsella of Creston, and ring bearer was Jensen Waigand of Afton, both cousins of the bride.

Candle lighters were Hunter Crill of Prescott, nephew of the groom, and Jackson Kinsella, cousin of the bride.

Guest book attendants were Ansley Waigand of Afton and Mason Kinsella of Creston, both cousins of the bride.

Immediately after the wedding, there was a reception held at Supertel in Creston. Tables were accented with centerpieces of mason jars filled with sliced lemons and cream hydrangeas. The ceiling was also decorated.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom the night before the wedding at Happy Hallow Country Club in Corning.

Reception hosts were Jerry and DeeAnne Warren of Clive, aunt and uncle of the groom, and Mike and Janette Day of Camden Point, Mo., aunt and uncle of the bride.

Cake servers were Kathy Morgan of Corning and Nona Firch of Bridgewater.

There was a candle lighted at the altar in memory of the bride’s brother Dane West and grandfather John T. Moore, and the groom’s grandmother Ruby Crill and great-grandmother Merle Crill.

The bride graduated from Grand View University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is currently employed at Alegent Creighton Health Mercy Hospital in Corning as a registered nurse.

The groom graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural studies and a minor in agronomy. He is currently employed with Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, Division of Soil Conservation in Corning as a state technician in Adams County.

After the wedding, the couple left for a honeymoon in Montezuma, Costa Rica. They stayed in a bungalow along the Pacific Coast and rainforest. The couple reside in Carl.
