Kyle Cortel, 23, 219 N. Maple St., was charged for fifth-degree theft 1 p.m. Thursday at Walmart, 806 Laurel St.

According to a Creston Police report, Cortel took items from Walmart and left the store without paying at 12:37 p.m. Thursday. The total value of the items was $12.65.

Cortel was cited and released on a promise to appear.

Lisa Harris, 605 N. Cherry St., reported her storage shed, located in the 900 block of South Birch Street, had been broken into and an Eden Pure heater was taken between Sept. 6 and Thursday.

Loss estimate is $200.
